By the river

Today we went down to the river to make the most of the lovely weather. We had a picnic and walked and relaxed in the sun.

Weekends

Weekdays are now a little different for us. James, Sophia and I are used to seeing each other everyday but for the last two weeks we only see James at the weekend. We miss him so much but we know that we’ve got to do what we’ve got to do until we can move into our new house.

Our weekends have become precious to us as we know it will soon be time for James to go back to Birmingham. We don’t want to waste any time and we’re making the most of time we have.

Last weekend…

We also went out with the pram for a walk around town and for a meal out together but I didn’t get around to taking any pictures of that.

It’s Friday afternoon and we can’t wait for James to come back!

Dear Sophia: 3 Months Old

Dear Sophia,

This week you turned 3 months old! This month has been a busy one with lots of changes. We moved out of our flat this month and you were such a good girl, you have managed to adapt well to being in a new place and around new people.

We’ve been in Ludlow for a week now and I can tell you are missing your Daddy. We will have lots of fun together at the weekends though!

This month you have been…

Eating

Eating is pretty much the same this month. You are eating around 6 times a day, every 3-4 hours and having around 6 ounces each time. We noticed that you have been getting hungrier earlier so have moved onto hungry baby milk to see if that satisfies you a bit better.

Sleeping

For the last three weeks you’ve been sleeping through the night which is wonderful! After your bath you go into your moses basket and tend to sleep through until around 6am or 7am. When we go to bed we usually give you a dream feed to keep you going until morning.

You are sleeping a bit less during the day but usually have two or three good naps.

Developing

  • Teething. You are teething at the moment and have a tiny white tooth poking through. It’s obvious your gums are bothering you as you spend most of your time chomping on your fist but you haven’t made a fuss at all.
  • Mini push ups. You have been spending more time on your playmat and on your tummy. You can now push yourself up with your arms and look around. We put toys just out of your grasp and you desperately try to reach them by kicking your legs and trying to pull yourself along. Your not quite moving yet but I don’t think it’ll be long!
  • Half rolling. You can roll from your side to your back and nearly from your side to your tummy. Your also very close to rolling over from your back to your tummy.
  • Grasping. You can now fully grasp your toys and pull them towards your mouth. Your hand-eye coordination has improved lots this month.
  • Talking. You are still a chatterbox! You love to chatter away to anyone you see with lots of expression.
  • Growing. You have nearly outgrown your 0-3 month trousers and babygrows now as you are so tall! Your 0-3 month tops still fit just fine for now.

You are such a happy little girl and a little ray of sunshine. We can’t imagine life without you anymore and wouldn’t want to. You bring so much joy to our little family, the missing piece of the puzzle. You are growing more amazing and adorable everyday. We love you to pieces!

Happy 3 month birthday beautiful girl!

Lots of love from Mummy and Daddy.xxx

Last night

We're about to spend our last night in our flat after 4 years of living here. So much has happened during our time here; I graduated uni, we got engaged, I got my first teaching job, we lost people dear to us, we got married, we had little Sophia....and so much more :)

Though it's a tiny one bedroom flat we loved it as it was all ours and a place to call home. We will miss it but we're so ready for our next house and having extra space (since Sophia arrived we seem to have amassed a lot of extra 'stuff'!)

Anyway, some recent pictures...

Sweet in shorts

We've been loving the warm, sunny weather we've been having the last few days. Sophia is keeping cool in her sweet little shorts today. They're a tad big as they're 3-6 months so that's why they're pulled up quite high.

Hope everyone has a great bank holiday :)

You are my 'I Love You'

I am your parent, you are my child
I am your quiet place, you are my wild
I am your calm face, you are my giggle
I am your wait, you are my wiggle
I am your audience, you are my clown
I am your London Bridge, you are my falling down
I am your Carrot Sticks, you are my liquorice
I am your dandelion, you are my first wish
I am your water wings, you are my deep
I am your open arms, you are my running leap
I am your way home, you are my new path
I am your dry towel, you are my wet bath
I am your dinner, you are my chocolate cake
I am your bedtime, you are my wide awake
I am your finish line, you are my race
I am your praying hands, you are my saving grace
I am your favourite book, you are my new lines
I am your nightlight, you are my sunshine
I am your lullaby, you are my peek-a-boo
I am your kiss goodnight, you are my I love you

Time flies

Tonight James and I have been looking at some old pictures from when Sophia was first born.

She's grown so much and seeing the pictures reminds me how tiny she was!
